Carnival Cruise Line released a video highlighting a shore side test run of BOLT, touted as the first roller-coaster at sea and debuting on the new Mardi Gras in February. Shot in Munich, Germany, at Mauer Rides, the video showcases all that went into creating the attraction where guests will ride across nearly 800 feet of suspended track, achieving speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. Are you a roller coaster fanatic?!
Aboard the Mardi Gras you’ll meet BOLT™: the fastest — and first! — rollercoaster at sea, but before that take a look at Cruise Director Matt Mitcham making ...

The CARIBBEAN ISLANDS are starting to open their borders to visitors. Many this month and some not until July. This article gives a detailed list of many individual islands. The common factor to each is the wearing of face masks and keeping distances.

:-) CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE UTILIZING ITS SHIPS TO RETURN CREW MEMBERS HOME
This info came straight from my BDM of Carnival Cruise Lines:
Eighteen Carnival Cruise Line ships will rendezvous in The Bahamas over the next several days as the final plans are put in place to sail nine of the ships to repatriate more than 10,000 healthy crew members who remain on board due to restrictions limiting air travel to Asia, Africa, Europe, India and Latin America.
The ships have been at various U.S. home-ports provisioning supplies and bunkering fuel for their journeys. Certain crew will join ships using water shuttles off the coast of The Bahamas. Once completed, nine ships will sail to their destinations with crew members from North American-based ships on board. The remaining nine ships will spend most of their time in anchorage positions in The Bahamas or Panama and eventually all ships will reduce their crew numbers to safe operational manning levels.
Prior to Carnival’s pause in operations on March 13, its fleet of 27 ships had nearly 29,000 crew members on board. Since that time, Carnival has already repatriated more than 10,000 crew via flights and another 10,000 will be traveling on the nine voyages leaving this week. Approximately 6,000 additional crew will be repatriated by air charters or three ships that already departed from Australia and Long Beach. By the time all these movements are completed, the Carnival fleet will be down to approximately 3,000 crew members identified for safe operational manning, plus several hundred that will be repatriated as quickly as possible.

NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE ANNOUNCES GOOD NEWS FOR THEIR FUTURE!
Since our local news media was quick to say 'bankruptcy' before getting ALL the facts, I wanted you to know the happy ending of the story! This is direct from NCL:
"While there were misleading headlines in the news yesterday, I am thrilled to share that the day marked an important milestone for our company as we undertook an initiative as important as any in our history. We raised an additional $2.2 billion of liquidity, which means that we are well-positioned to weather the impact of COVID-19."

Roberto Brunetti, a travel colleague & tour guide in Rome, shared these photos with these words ... "I was walking on the street without being able to understand what my eyes were looking at. A silence that enters your soul, the immense beauty of an eternal city covered in the sadness of such a delicate & unique moment in my history. This is a Rome I will never forget but I hope I will never see again." Well said, my friend. We all WILL be back!

TSA Increases Hand Sanitizer Allowance for Carry-Ons
TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container up to 12 ounces per passenger in carry-on bags until further notice. Passengers can expect that these containers larger than the standard allowance of 3.4 ounces of liquids permitted through a checkpoint will need to be screened separately, which will add some time to their checkpoint screening experience.
Please keep in mind that all other liquids, gels, and aerosols brought to a checkpoint continue to be allowed at the limit of 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters carried in a one quart-size bag.
SANDALS RESORTS INTERNATIONAL IS CLOSING ALL 19 all-inclusive Sandals and Beaches Resorts on seven Caribbean islands from March 30 to May 15.
"Never could we have imagined the impact the current global health crisis would have on the world,” says Butch Stewart, chairman and CEO of Sandals. “In these unprecedented times, and now more than ever, the safety and health of our valued guests is of paramount importance.”
Stewart said recent global travel warnings, coupled with airline flight cancellations, have compelled the company to make the difficult decision to close all Sandals and Beaches Resorts from March 30 to May 15, 2020. Sandals will not be able to accept new arrivals as of March 23, 2020.
“We also want to alleviate any additional worry you might have about your upcoming vacation,” Stewart said. “Please don’t call us because our dedicated team will be reaching out to you personally to assist with rescheduling your future plans. This way, you can spend less time trying to reach us and more time with your loved ones.”
ATTENTION! CRUISE LINE UPDATES AS OF MARCH 24 >> Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, Azamara and Silversea) as well as AmaWaterways have announced that they are extending their suspension dates until May 12 and May 31, respectively.
RCCL adds: "Because of announced port closures, we expect to return to service for Alaska, Canada and New England sailings July 1, 2020."
Carnival Cruise Line will announce their plans by this Friday and I'm sure others will also follow shortly.
This suspension extension is being done, in part, due to the many cruise ports, worldwide, that are still NOT allowing ships to come in!
NOTE: If you have a cruise booked with my office I will be reaching out to you shortly. Check your email for a letter from the cruise line. If you booked with another agency or direct with the cruise line please contact them directly for further information.
AFTER your Future Cruise Credit has been applied, if you would like me to help you book your next cruise I am available to assist! [email protected]
DO YOU HAVE A FLIGHT BOOKED?
