[05/17/20] To friends and followers of Aiken Bites & Sites due to the coronavirus outbreak and the uncertainty of group activities and our restaurant partner operations, Aiken Bites & Sites will be discontinuing our business effective immediately. The requirements of social distancing and restaurant limited capacity makes the future food tours difficult at best.
Anyone who purchased a gift certificate and has an unused balance will receive a full refund in the near future, Sandy and I who like to thank all those who were a part of our tours in the past and hope everyone stays safe during these uncertain and unique times.

Do you know what a food tour is? A food tour involves walking around a neighborhood, going into shops and restaurants to try various foods, and hearing both about the foods themselves and how they fit into the city's culture.
How much does a food tour cost? Often food tours will cost between $35-70 per person.
Are food tours worth it? You can certainly go to restaurants and try the local cuisine on your own, but a food tour goes way beyond ordering things from a menu. ... Food Tours are worth booking because food is such a big part of what makes the culture the way it is…and they're so much fun!

Bill Ferris and Sandy Petsch are co-owners and operators of Aiken Bites & Sites. After many years living in the Cincinnati, OH area, the couple relocated to Aiken in April of 2018 upon Bill’s retirement. Their marriage is truly made in heaven as Sandy loves to cook and Bill loves to eat.
While not natives to the South, both Bill & Sandy have enjoyed the more laid-back lifestyle and warmer weather that South Carolina offers. While travelling the couple tries to take in a food tour wherever they go. It’s a great way to become immersed in the culture and try various foods indigenous to the area.
Bill is new to the retirement scene after spending 47 years in quality control at various manufacturing locations. He feels he is not ready for an easy chair or playing golf every day. Sandy’s background includes teaching, insurance underwriting and accounts receivable besides owning and operating two small business ventures.
Upon relocating to Aiken, the couple found that Aikenites enjoy a rich and vibrant downtown area not evident in many surrounding towns. All Aiken is missing is their own walking food tour.
The parent company, Z-T Tours LLC is named in honor of their two dogs, Zorro and Trixie. They are very silent partners. Aiken Bites & Sites is the perfect name for what the tour is all about.
Bill is responsible for the research on the history and culture of Aiken and will be leading the majority of the tours, at least in the beginning. Sandy’s role will be working with the food partners to ensure the best possible tasting experience for the guests.
Our mission for Aiken Bites and Sites is “Together let’s share Aiken’s flavors, history and culture though a solid partnership that provides a high-quality customer /guest experience.”
Thanks for your interest in Aiken Bites and Sites and we hope to meet you on a tour.
