Private San Francisco Bay area tour guide. San Francisco, Muir Woods, Marin County, Point Reyes and Sonoma and Napa wine tours.

This is Maddie, the incredible, inimitable 5 year old Australian I had on a tour.
She should have her own late night talk show.

Huge wave activity at Salt Point State Park 2.5 hours north of San Francisco.
Mother Nature's entertainment for hours -

Hey Old People,
Remember the Norman Rockwell painting covers on Look magazine ?

I was lucky to grab a photo just as an alien space craft left this pod of extra-terrestials to infiltrate Earth and walk among us. The only thing I could make out on the license plate was "Texas".

This is the view from the deck of a house that some friends rent out to the public in Gualala, a scenic 2.5 hour drive north of SF. It sleeps 6+ comfortably. It's the perfect vacation place inside and outside. It's just north of the Russian River, Salt Point State Park seashore and near Point Arena. Lots of beautiful sea side walking trails and waves smacking rocks with huge splashes. I just got back from there and I'm ready to go back.
It's heaven on earth.
Now back to your regular scheduled programming....

Drakes Beach, Drakes Bay, Point Reyes, California -
or as Sir Francis Drake called it in 1579, "Nova Albion".
That's olde English for New England. Reminded him of the white cliffs of Dover.

Wispy pampas grass on Tomales Bay, Point Reyes on the way to Tony's bbq oysters in Marshall

Tequila Tapatio Excelencia Anejo Tequila 1L - SKU
It's simply a melange of the most incredible flavors. This is what the Aztec kings would have served at barbecues. The oldest expression from Carlos Camarena's Tapatio brand is finally available stateside. Rich and butterscotchy and with hints of black pepper and citrus. Distilled exclusively from perfectly matured agave at the famous La Altena distillery in Arandas. When they tell you how this stuff was made it…

Everyone should see The City with a pro like Gary.

About - Panama-Pacific International Exposition

I had a couple from the UK last week and it occurred to me to take them to the cliffside Moss Beach Distillery for lunch. We had great seafood and had the super surprise extra perk of watching whales play just offshore. Who knew ? Earlier this year I had a tour with a guy who was the size of a sequoia. Turns out he was U2 guitarist the Edge's tour bodyguard. I continue to meet the most interesting and friendly people from all over the world. Check out the exhibition hall inside the Palace of Fine Arts for its 100th birthday celebration.
It's fun ! February 20, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition (PPIE), the World’s Fair celebrating the completion of the Panama Canal and showcasing San Francisco—its recovery from the ashes of the 1906 earthquake and fire and its world trade potential. Throughout 2015…

Salt Point State Park seascape. I've been visiting here for 20+ years. It is simply serene and gorgeous. And it's just down the road from Timber Cove and the flowering pampas grass.

About - Panama-Pacific International Exposition

Let's see, lately I've had clients from Bucharest, Hamburg, Norway, Minneapolis, Indiana, Chicago and and they are all thrilled with the warm weather we have been having. There have been beaucoup wine tastings : Schramsberg, Far Niente, Domaine Carneros, Jacuzzi, Rombauer, Dutton Goldfield, Kosta Browne, and MacPhail wineries. Highly recommend the heavenly lobster rolls at Willi's in Healdsburg. Went to the opening of the 100th anniversary centennial celebration of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition at the Palace of Fine Arts. Fabulous :
What else ? I shot the current cover & centerfold photos in Mergers & Acquisitions magazine. And proud to announce that after some way-over the top obsessive jones-ing I got a new guitar. [11/15/14]   Busy week with clients from Turkey, Iceland, Canada x 2 and Florida x2. Three trips into the Sonoma and Napa valleys. Merryvale, Anaba, Rams Gate and Bouchaine wineries tres bien. Heavenly meals at Bistro Jeanty and TraVigne. Fun tour of the diRosa art preserve - huge indoor and outdoor private art collection in the golden hills between Napa and Sonoma. Plus 2 photo gigs called in.

I'm jonesin' for some mozzarella al minuto from TraVigne in St. Helena. Eating one of these is a life changing experience.
Eating two can discombobulate your hard drive. Then there's the "forever roasted lamb". I was minding my own business when I came across it on the menu. Life altering. It is impossible to delete it from your hard drive.

Meanwhile, people are talkin' :

It's been a busy year. 127 tours so far. People from everywhere in the world. Showing off San Francisco, beloved Marin County, wine tours in the Sonoma, Dry Creek and Napa valleys, walking the serenity of Muir Woods and beautiful Point Reyes. Crowd pleaser mozzarella al minuto at TraVigne in St. Helena, delicious scallops at Redd in Yountville, oyster po-boy at Fish in Sausalito, smoked brisket at the venerable Buckeye in Mill Valley and the piece d'resistance - margaritas at Tommy's Mexican. And even some photography gigs to cap it off. Meanwhile, please pass guacamole -

Lately I've had people from India, St. Louis, Houston, Alabama and Pakistan. It's always an adventure . . .

[01/07/14]   2013 was a great year - 119 tours with people from all over the world. We toured from the otters of Elkhorn Slough and elephant seals of Ano Nuevo to San Francisco, Muir Woods, Marin county, Point Reyes and the beautiful Napa, Sonoma and Carneros wine country valleys.

[01/07/14]   One of my tour people said " You are only showing me beautiful places ! "

Hang gliding off Mt. Tamalpais over the Pacific with the Farallon Islands 27 miles offshore in the distance.

On the Presidio. An oasis within San Francisco.

The Rotunda at the Palace of Fine Arts, last remaining structure from the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Expositon. The crown jewel of San Francisco.

So many choices . . . which way to go ?
