When the irises are blooming, you know summer can't be far away! Iris come in many colors and varieties and are a cottage-garden favorite. When you are walking around the neighborhood, take notice! #HistoricAlbanyOregon #VisitAlbanyOregonAfterThePandemic
Albany Monteith Historic District
There’s something about springtime in Oregon that is extraordinary. This beautiful house is a few blocks away from the Maple Street Bungalow in the Albany Monteith Historic District . (And how about that blue sky that is less polluted these days?!) #LoveWhereYouLive #HistoricAlbanyOregon #VisitAlbanyOregonAfterThePandemic
This beautiful church is just a few blocks away from the Maple Street Bungalow. It looked particularly stunning today in between rain showers. #lovewhereyoulive Whitespires #visitalbanyoregonafterthepandemic
We may have all slowed down, but spring certainly has not! Have you walked around our historic districts lately? The camellia bushes are blooming and looking quite fabulous. #HistoricAlbanyOregon #VisitAlbanyOregonAfterThePandemic
The daffodils are in full bloom on Maple Street and across the city. The nights are still cold, but the days feel very spring-like! #VisitAlbanyOregon #HistoricAlbanyOregon #SpringIsComing
This is one of the neatest prints! We have it in three different houses, and it looks unique and beautiful in each one. Here's the link to order one of your own... https://www.etsy.com/listing/261910649/portland-bridges-illustrated-print?ref=user_profile&frs=1 #PortlandBridges #ShopSmall
Leaves are coming down quickly in the neighborhood! This amazing tree is shedding gold just a couple blocks away from the bungalow. Really beautiful! #VisitAlbanyOregon #HistoricAlbanyOregon
We were amused by this very Efficient Tree around the corner from the Bungalow. While the leaves on the maples are only about half fallen, this one is completely bare and in a tidy pile ready for pick up! #HistoricAlbanyOregon #VisitAlbanyOregon
We are so pleased to support Family Tree Relief Nursery, a local non-profit organization that supports children and families. The group used the Bungalow to film a presentation. Please consider supporting them! #investinourfuture
It’s autumn on Maple Street! Here are the namesake trees in front of the Bungalow. Such beauty! #GetReadyForRaking #HistoricAlbanyOregon #VisitAlbanyOregon
Anyone remember the ole Zenith Circle of Sound? Circa 1970s. We got this one at Albany Antiques and it works! (I do not know why all the country music stations tune in clearer and louder than others!) And isn’t it funny that the volume button is labeled “loudness”? #TBT #ThatWasAGoodDecade
A funny thing happened on Maple Street today! Check out this flock of wild turkeys... They were just wandering around, from yard to yard, about 20 of them! #UrbanTurkeys
One of our favorite old-fashioned cottage flowers... hollyhocks!
When the two largest maple trees that the entire street has been named for happen to be in your yard... yep, we notice in the spring all the “helicopter” seeds (and in the fall, all the leaves)! #VisitAlbanyOregon #HistoricAlbanyOregon
These roses! That house! Picture-perfect this afternoon… only a couple blocks away from the Bungalow, isn’t it charming?!
This is pretty creative! They pressure-washed a pattern in the sidewalk! Albany Visitors Association #VisitAlbanyOregon #HistoricAlbanyOregon
This historic home is in the same district as the Bungalow. A trailer of rhodies and tulips was in front, and made a charming picture! #VisitAlbanyOregon #HistoricAlbanyOregon
Our favorite kind of snow! The pink blossoms are beautiful! #VisitAlbanyOregon
This neighborhood flower stand is just a few blocks away from the Maple Street Bungalow at the corner of 5th and Calapooia near Downtown Albany. You can get daffodils and other cottage flowers and shrubs!
The sun is bright this morning, coming into this kitchen corner. Note the gorgeous “Peony” painting by local artist Michael John Bittle!
The Bungalow still looks a little barren. But we are seeing signs of the waning winter! Daffodils are peeking out, and some of the others shrubs and flowers are budding. Come on, Spring!
We are so excited to get our historic house name plaque... the research shows that Dena Franks was the first resident of the Maple Street Bungalow, and she had it built in 1920!
The dogwoods are blooming now... this lovely pink one is about two blocks from the Bungalow!
It’s a front porch kind of day... #myfivestarlife #slowdown
The hellebores are in full bloom... It’s springtime on Maple Street!
This adorable bungalow just a few houses away from Maple Street is decked out for Christmas... really charming!
Old fashioned flowers are everywhere in the neighborhood! These are blooming now at the bungalow--hollyhocks and Rose of Sharon.
